Skin Excision Evaluation Program

This program helps participants analyse their diagnostic skill for identification of high-risk lesions based on histology samples submitted. The monthly reports we provide via our CPD Portal allow participants to check the accuracy of their provisional diagnoses against the histological diagnoses.

  • What is the annual program criteria?

    To secure the CPD hours, participants must meet the following criteria each calendar year:

    • 40 histology samples recommended
    • Samples must be submitted with the program-specific Request Form and ‘coded’ correctly
    • Reflection Activity completed online (emailed to participants later in the year once sample criteria met)

  • How do I register?

    You must complete the Online Registration Form by clicking "REGISTER" below. Once submitted, our CPD team will take approximately 1-2 weeks to process, and you will receive a ‘Welcome to Program’ confirmation email.

  • How many CPD hours are awarded?

    Once all the program criteria is met, participants will receive 27.5 CPD hours each calendar year:

    • 20 CPD Measuring Outcomes hours
    • 5 CPD Reviewing Performance hours
    • 2.5 CPD Educational Activities hours

    NOTE: RACGP and ACRRM members will have their CPD hours uploaded by us and can download a Certificate of Completion. All other CPD Home members can download a Certificate of Completion to self-record.

  • What histology samples are included?

    The following samples are included in the program criteria:

    • Histology samples (both excision and biopsy samples) submitted with the program Request Form and ‘coded’ correctly as per ‘How To Code’ flyer instructions

  • How do I order the program request forms?

    The request form is called "Skin Excision Evaluation Program - With Labels" and you must order these via the options below:

    1. Log into eStores to place your order
    2. If you don't have an eStores account, you must Register for eStores by completing this online form. Our team can then set up and issue a username and password to the email address provided, which can take approximately 10 working days.

    NOTE: When you receive these details, you will be able to order the program Request Form and other consumables. Once you have logged into eStores, click on ‘Request Forms’ or any of the consumable categories. Then in the ‘Search Products’ field, enter in the name of the form above and it will display on your screen.

  • What are the learning outcomes?
    1. Identify diagnostic inaccuracies concerning skin lesions submitted for histopathological analysis.
    2. Demonstrate appropriate surgical margin practices for malignant skin cancer procedures.
    3. Detect cases that require additional treatment to ensure the ongoing care and safety of the patient.
    4. Contrast personal diagnostic and surgical proficiency in comparison to state and national peer groups.
    5. Contrast personal melanoma detection rates in comparison to state and national peer groups.

  • How do I access the CPD Portal?

    Program reports are viewed online via the CPD Portal in eResults. Once your registration has been processed and your initial confirmation email is received, we will email you again with further information about how to access the portal.

    NOTE: Reports are released monthly on the 16th for the previous month, i.e. On the 16th of February, participants can access the January report showing histology samples submitted in January. All samples submitted with the program Request Form and ‘coded’ correctly for the calendar year will be counted towards the program criteria.
