Diabetes Clinical Evaluation Program

This program helps participants easily manage and provide clinical care for their patients living with diabetes. It provides a daily updated list that highlights patients who are due for their recommended 6-monthly HbA1c testing, including the additional pathology tests UMA and Cholesterol.

  • What is the annual program criteria?

    To secure the CPD hours, participants must meet the following criteria each calendar year:

    • 40 HbA1c tests recommended
    • 4 CPD Portal logins/views recommended
    • Reflection Activity completed online (emailed to participants later in the year once tests and login criteria met)
  • How do I register?

    You must complete the online registration form by clicking "REGISTER" below. Once submitted, our CPD team will take approximately 1-2 weeks to process, and you will receive a ‘Welcome to Program’ confirmation email.

    NOTE: A pre-requisite of 10 HbA1c tests referred to Clinical Labs in the registering year is mandatory to join this program.

  • How many CPD hours are awarded?

    Once all the program criteria is met, participants will receive 20 CPD hours each calendar year:

    • 10 CPD Measuring Outcomes hours
    • 10 CPD Reviewing Performance hours

    NOTE: RACGP and ACRRM members will have their CPD hours uploaded by us and can download a Certificate of Completion. All other CPD Home members can download a Certificate of Completion to self-record.

  • What are the learning outcomes?

    1. Create a diabetes-specific patient recall system to improve the pathology review process for your patients living with diabetes.
    2. Employ best-practice clinical guidelines for the frequency of pathology monitoring your patients with diabetes.
    3. Compare the management of your patients with diabetes against that of your state peers.
    4. Propose collaborative strategies to positively influence the management outcomes of your patients living with diabetes.
  • How do I access the CPD Portal?

    Program data is viewed online via the CPD Portal in eResults. Once your registration has been processed and your initial confirmation email is received, we will email you again with further information about how to access the portal.

    As outlined in the program criteria, participants are required to log into the portal a recommended 4 times each calendar year. This portal is where participants can check their current number of HbA1c tests referred, login count and send recall letters to patients due for their recommended pathology tests.
